DEN VANSKELIGE REISA (2016)

 'Den vanskelige reisa' (A difficult journey) is the sequel of "Den vanskeige tida" (Hard times). I wanted the score to be subtle, yet distinct and effective in eliciting emotions. As in the opening scene below (which became sort of the ground score for the film) I used a slightly eerie, drone like tone and some high pitched, repetitive piano figures to lay down an emotive framework, then adding some more mid/bass piano tones when there's an emotional turn of events. Or something like that. 

It's a bit "over the top",  but I reckon that reflected the slightly over-the-top dramaturgic motives. Sort of like forcing someone to sense the sadness even if it's funny. And vice versa.
